My clients are committed to understanding the pain they are in and ready to begin the process of healing. Many of my clients identify themselves as "outsiders" and as a result are able to see their lives from a different prospective than the average person. As a result they are able to consider how their lives effected by the space they live in regarding race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, and class. While healing is painful all my clients are curious and courageous as they heal.
Our pain and suffering show up in so many ways. Trauma can come through so many different experiences: adverse early childhood experiences, grief and loss, systemic oppression, and acute traumas. Clients that come to me often experience depression, anxiety, religious trauma, shame, grief and loss, fear of death/dying, and self-judgement. We work together to create a container to heal in.
Have you realized that certain painful patterns keep repeating in your relationships and your life, but you aren't sure how to go about changing them? Often, knowing what needs to change and actually enacting change can feel really daunting. I get it, and that's where I come in. I work with clients who are motivated to make deep, lasting, transformational shifts in their lives. Therapy helps you to understand and heal old patterns so that you can move toward the life you really want.
