Embarking on the journey of couples therapy is a profound step towards personal growth, healing, and strengthening the bond of your relationship. It requires courage to face the challenges within a relationship, and it's a journey that doesn't have to be navigated alone. As a therapist specializing in couples therapy, I aim to be a beacon of hope and source of support for both partners. At the core of my approach to therapy is a deep-seated belief in the power of empathy and human connection.
We encounter challenges not just in our connections but also at work, school, and within our minds, grappling with issues like depression, anxiety, or trauma. The challenge arises when our difficulties overshadow our joyful experiences. I’m committed to helping you find peace and joy in your life and relationships. I hold a firm belief in the capacity of each individual to achieve happiness and fulfillment, and I’m dedicated to guiding you toward realizing that potential.
My practice is centered on providing empathic support and effective strategies primarily in Marriage Counseling and Couples Therapy. I specialize in addressing relationship issues, helping partners understand each other better, communicate more effectively, and resolve conflicts to strengthen their bond. My therapeutic approach is tailored to the unique needs of each couple, integrating various methods to foster deeper connections and mutual respect among partners.
Whether you're facing communication challenges or seeking to deepen your emotional bond, I aim to support you in creating a more fulfilling and loving partnership. I understand the importance of a supportive and non-judgmental environment for couples to feel safe and valued as they navigate their relationship. My goal is to ensure that our work together is collaborative, focusing on what matters most to you and your partner.
With a liberation psychology lens, I welcome the opportunity to safely explore and work with all people regardless of social location. A therapist is not here to tell you what to do but to help you uncover the hidden barriers that keep you immobilized and explore new perspectives and possibilities. Together, we can work through your challenges and find a path to healing and growth. Therapy is a collaborative process, and I am here to support you every step of the way.

I have opinions about therapy. I believe that folks living with cancer shouldn't be caged in the identity of "ill patients." I believe that BIPOC folx deserve more than being acknowledged in a footnote. And I believe that end of life needs to be stigma-free and is something worth talking about. Expertise needs to be earned. I may have spent time honing my skills, but you have far more experience living your life. We are fellow experts. Let's work together in service of your wellness.
I work with people that are experiencing anxiety in relationships at home and/or work. Also people suffering from regret, sadness or depression around past or current relationships. Being our authentic selves often requires deep insight and healing. However, once we have searched within and healed internal wounds we are more able to communicate honestly and effectively and live free of painful and anxious thoughts and moods. Loving yourself will expand all relationships that you are experience.
I want to understand the nuances of your experience. I frequently meet with people who have doubts about seeking help, or last time they tried therapy it didn’t work out. Many of my clients have been told something was wrong with them, that they are not normal, and that their values and preferences are not acceptable. Sometimes they have taken this on and live under pressure. I’d be honored to talk with you as you journey toward your hoped-for life.
I work with people that are struggling with painful experiences from their past and want to heal trauma. My clients often identify as women, trans or non-binary, bi-cultural or BIPOC. Many are intellectuals, activists, creatives and the like—some for whom traditional talk therapy has not been successful. I will work collaboratively with you to understand your instincts and process unresolved stuff in you nervous system so you can feel satisfied in your life.

Do you feel overwhelmed by stress, anxiety or defeat, as a result of a significant life change or trauma? Maybe a relationship has ended or a new phase of life has just begun. Perhaps you’re living with the long-term effects of abuse, illness/pain or other traumatic experiences. You may feel out of control of your life or emotions. Eventually, these things start to overflow into other areas of life...and yet despite how hard things are right now, you know there’s more to life than this.
My clients tend to struggle with feeling stuck, overwhelmed by their thoughts and feelings, and trouble communicating regarding needs. Often they have trouble sleeping or unwinding or have pressures of being "perfect". They may also be afraid to take chances, be genuine in relationships, and seek out opportunities and sex they deserve. I enjoy working with those struggling with issues related anxiety, trauma, am LGTQI affirming, sex positive.
I have more than ten years of experience working with adolescents, young adults, adults, families, and couples. I most frequently help clients navigate the challenges of anxiety, depression, ADHD, giftedness, self-esteem and body image issues, relationships, grief, disordered eating, and trauma. I specialize in, and especially enjoy working with, ADHD, gifted adolescents and adults, and high school and college-aged clients.
Many of my clients begin therapy saying they've always felt like they didn't belong. They've never really been understood. They've been cast aside or have done a lot of pretending to fit a mold to fit in. Most people inherently want—need, really—to belong. When we feel we don’t, we come up with all kinds of strategies to meet that need, or numb the pain of going without. Sometimes these strategies stop working or get in the way of our being ideal selves. This is where therapy can be beneficial.
