I primarily work with individuals and couples who have highly stressful careers that are ready to do what's necessary to experience real and lasting change. Together we'll face what's felt too much, explore the impact and the meanings made of the past while building a future centered around freedom, fulfillment and joy.
You’re tired of letting big feelings get in the way of what's important to you. You feel panicky and on edge, your heart beats out of nowhere, but you’re not sure why or how to stop it. Whether you are encountering anxiety, depression, OCD, parenting struggles, or one of life's many challenges, I’m here to tell you that you do not need to carry the emotional weight on your own. Let me ride the wave with you and help you gain a deeper understanding of your internal world.
My clients may describe themselves as sensitive, caring, people pleasing or perfectionist. They might be experiencing conflict in family, parenting, work, or romantic relationships. They feel overwhelmed and anxious. They are looking for personal growth, insight, and healing so that they can show up more authentically in their relationships.
You’ve struggled with the belief for as long as you can remember that no matter what you do it won’t be good enough. You know the answer to a simple question, but double check anyway because you don’t trust in yourself enough to give the right answer. Tasks that other people seem to do easily cause you to panic, which only reinforces the belief that you are inadequate. I want to help you get out of your own head so you can break free from these patterns that feel so binding.
I work with survivors of acute and complex trauma who tend to be perfectionists and struggle with self-criticalness. Generally, my clients are women and LGBTQ+ adolescents and young adults. Many of my clients internalize the stigma and shame conditioned by our society's oppressive norms and politics. I help my clients find self-compassion, embrace their authenticity, and process their trauma from an intersectional, warm approach that always emphasizes fostering safety rather than "fixing."

I work with individual adults & couples from a variety of communities who feel stuck, who would like to learn new coping skills, heal & grow. Whether you are navigating relationship issues, life transitions or trying to understand why you are in pain it is healing to be seen, heard & accepted. This is what I strive to create in our therapeutic relationship while helping you to connect with and understand parts of yourself you may have felt the need to keep hidden.
Do you notice that you worry more about what others think of you than what you think of you? Maybe you look around the room and compare yourself to others. Are you always "watching your weight" or trying a new diet? At first you felt like you were controlling the food, but now it seems like the food is controlling you. It's all you can think about. I've been treating people with various levels of eating disorders for almost 20 years. You and I can work together to get your life back.
You're tired of struggling with obsessive thoughts about food and your body. Maybe you've been stuck restricting, emotional eating, binging, or over-exercising. You work hard to stick to the plan, but you just feel like you can’t be trusted around food. People think you “have it all” but inside it feels like you’re a total fraud. Each day, you're determined to do things differently, but you have no idea where to start. I can help.
Feeling stuck? Struggling to identify goals? Feeling as if your body image and relationship to food has become overwhelming? Whether you are having a hard time answering these questions or the answers are ingrained in you, I am here to support you! Authenticity and empowerment are the focus of my therapeutic style. Together, let's take a look at what is and is not serving you in life right now. I work through story, tools and feedback to help clients realign with their true self.
My small private practice allows me to see fewer clients and spend more time crafting your personalized, evolving treatment plan. Between sessions, I use research, expert consultations, and careful reflection to enhance your quality of care.

I see many clients who feel stuck and unable to alter their life in a way that reflects their values, causing them to feel sad, on edge, or numb. They are suffering a great deal, and often their needs seem unclear. This can look like constant worrying, dreading the future, or being caught up in the past. I use a frank and kind style to empower clients to find meaning and hope as they navigate the complicated, often oppressive systems of our world.
Finding meaning in life, healing, becoming whole again, & thriving (not just surviving) are examples of potential goals for our time together. Within that framework, we can customize our work to meet and embrace your unique personality & needs. A couple of meaningful quotes: “You are not meant for crawling. So don't. You have wings. Learn to use them and fly." ~ Jalal al-Din Rumi (13th-century Persian poet and Sufi mystic) “The privilege of a lifetime is to become who you truly are.” ~ Carl Jung
Many of my clients come to me frustrated with their relationships, their career, or patterns they feel stuck in, and are feeling pretty powerless. The source of their pain is often contributed to being mistreated, not feeling fully seen, heard, and acknowledged by family, peers, society, and culture. My clients have a desire for personal growth, to find connection, and to build confidence.
My clients seek a highly skilled and trained elite expert in this, and are willing to self pay to get that expertise. I help those with sexual misbehaviors change thinking, create better outcomes. 25 years of experience, training in this have me bring superior insights and skills that non specialists do not have, I use superior skills to help clients to create lasting change, faster improvements towards self management of this disorder, an improved mood, reduced risk Call 718-208-6135, no emails
I work with parents, often new parents, who are figuring out how to build a new life together. Parenthood brings not just new responsibilities, but also a wholesale restructuring of the family system, one that can be painful and confusing. The families I work with are often struggling to define their new roles in a way that seems "fair." It's a difficult task anyway, but when you throw in exhaustion and overwhelm, it's easy for resentment and blame to creep into relationships.

Why did no one warn you about how hard the transition to parenthood was going to be? You often feel that you’re not doing a “good enough” job and wonder why other parents seem to have it all figured out. You may not have had the pregnancy, birth, or postpartum experience that you wanted. You love your baby more than anything but you don’t always love being a parent.
I love working with anyone in the midst of major life changes, including those navigating relationship and career transitions, new parents, ambitious professionals, blocked creatives, and those struggling with the aftermath of relational trauma or loss and grief. I also particularly enjoy and thrive in working with men seeking a greater understanding of themselves and their relationship patterns, and who are looking to deepen a connection to their emotional world.
I accompany clients as they address anxiety, depression, trauma, and challenging life changes. Together, we work to increase insight, practical skills, and self-awareness through a lively engagement with the "less visited" parts of self that we often take for granted. My treatment approach is based on awakening deep compassion and curiosity about ourselves and the world.
