About My Clients
Neurodiverse-informed couples counseling often brings relief after years of misunderstandings. Neurotypical partners may feel invalidated or "gaslighted," while neurodiverse partners feel overwhelmed. Key communication differences include logical vs. emotional, concrete vs. abstract, absolute vs. relative, and avoidant vs. insistent styles. Recovery involves recognizing how neurological differences affect interactions and then working through structured steps to rebuild acceptance and love.
My Background and Approach
I specialize in working with neurotypical and neurodiverse couples, helping them navigate differences in communication and emotional processing. My approach involves identifying how differences impact interactions, breaking blame and shame cycles, and fostering acceptance. I also support couples through life changes like job loss, parenting, or grief, helping them grow together while maintaining individual identities. Using a combination of EFT, the Gottman Method, CBT, and other therapeutic modalities, I guide couples toward healthier communication and deeper connection.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe deeply in the transformative power of human connection and relationships. My philosophy centers on the idea that people heal and grow best through their bonds with others. I view marriage not as a rigid institution defined by "shoulds," but as a creative endeavor that partners shape together - one that can be both challenging and deeply empowering. In couples work, I'm passionate about helping partners discover their unique path, moving beyond early programming about what marriage "should" be. Drawing from my creative background in advertising and entrepreneurship, I value diverse perspectives and collaborative growth. My approach combines evidence-based methods with building genuine therapeutic relationships to foster both individual wellbeing and family harmony.
