James SearingLicensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSW
Hello! I'm a social justice/antiracist allied therapist who works well with creatives, geeks, gamers, LGBTQ+ folx and divergent thinkers.
Grief and loss are a part of the human condition. Grief is typically considered to be brought on by the death of a loved one, but can also be triggered by any significant life-altering loss (such as a divorce or the loss of a job). Grief is a natural response to loss, but that doesn’t make it easy to deal with. Symptoms of grief may include sadness, loneliness, anger, denial, depression and a myriad of other thoughts and feelings. There is no “normal” amount of time for grief to pass, but if you find that your grief is not improving over time or that it is interfering with your everyday life, you may want to consider seeking professional help. A qualified grief counselor can help you to cope with the physical, emotional, social, spiritual, and cognitive responses to loss. Reach out to one of TherapyDen’s grief experts today.
As a CBT-certified therapist, I am passionate about counseling and guiding young adults in contemporary issues and challenges unique to them. They seek the inner clarity, confidence, and long-lasting skills and strategies to improve their relationship to Self and others, resolve career-related issues, and live life confidently. They seek to move past the limiting effects of their emotional and psychological struggles in order to achieve their goals and be at their best.
Grief has you waking up throughout the night, holding back tears. You feel like you are falling apart. You wake up not knowing how you are going to get through the day with all this pain, a pit in your stomach; it feels like you are falling apart, and you miss them. This was your go-to person. You are a private person who doesn't want to feel like a burden to others, you have tried reading the books, but there is still so much you feel and think about.
Having trouble navigating through life? Hitting roadblocks within different relationships? Do you have doubt about your identity and worth? I am available to provide a safe, open space in which we can work collaboratively to support you in your journey of healing. I have a background of working with youth and children dealing with depression, anxiety and the throws of life.
