About My Clients
I am here and ready to help you move past your past. I am currently seeing clients entirely through telehealth. I believe your mind and body has what it needs to heal, sometimes it just needs a little guidance.
My Background and Approach
Difficult life events may feel like they consume our existence; however, there is hope. I have seen the incredible resiliency of people as I have helped clients overcome trauma, anxiety, depression, and other emotional obstacles. I truly believe that you too will be able to get through this with guided support. My unique path in life and therapeutic training has led me to specialize in working with clients like you who have experienced difficult events and are looking for help. I work with my clients using a feminist perspective alongside the lasting effects of EMDR, expressive arts, sandtray, and meditation to suit your unique need. To many of us, our pets are family members rather than mere animals and their loss is an often under-recognized and terrible pain. For this reason, I specialize in pet bereavement and anticipatory loss. I will understand what you are going though and help you gain strength, understanding, and a deeper love of your pet and what it means to be alive.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I want to make the world a better place than how I have found it. I try to use my many privileges to help those around me and am a passionate accomplice* for the LGBTQIA+ community, Black Lives Matter, BIPOC and women's rights movement. I believe we can be better with endless effort and relentless transparency. I belong to the Association for Multicultural Counseling Development. I have worked with animals professionally in the past & greatly believe in the human-animal bond. I volunteer for the Human-Interaction section 13 of Division 17 of the American Psychological Association to help identify competencies in the practice. I also belong to the Association for Pet Loss and Bereavement, Association of Professional Dog Trainers, and the International Association of Canine Professionals (*accomplice: The actions of an Accomplice are meant to directly challenge institutionalized racism, colonization, and White supremacy by blocking or impeding racist people, policies, and structures.)
