Just like any other group, the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning (LGBTQ) community faces mental health issues and unique challenges. However, LGBTQ individuals are almost 3 times more likely than others to experience a mental health condition, such as depression or anxiety. Additionally, more than half of individuals who identify as transgender experience depression or anxiety. The LGBTQ community is also at a higher risk for suicide. Young people are even more at risk, as they may experience a lack of support at home and fear, hatred or prejudice in school. If you are a member of the LGBTQ community and are facing mental health challenges, you don’t have to suffer in silence. Reach out to one of TherapyDen’s LGBTQ experts and get help today.

I have more than ten years of experience working with adolescents, young adults, adults, families, and couples. I most frequently help clients navigate the challenges of anxiety, depression, ADHD, giftedness, self-esteem and body image issues, relationships, grief, disordered eating, and trauma. I specialize in, and especially enjoy working with, ADHD, gifted adolescents and adults, and high school and college-aged clients.

I work best with clients who are neurodivergent (ADHD and Autism), depressed, struggling with OCD, experiencing or recovering from relationship abuse, and/or trauma survivors. My aim is to provide a safe space where we can explore your current situation and come together to find ways to move past the challenges you are facing in your life. This may be achieved through counselling and the use of an integrative approach that considers cultural, environmental, and emotional factors.

With a liberation psychology lens, I welcome the opportunity to safely explore and work with all people regardless of social location. A therapist is not here to tell you what to do but to help you uncover the hidden barriers that keep you immobilized and explore new perspectives and possibilities. Together, we can work through your challenges and find a path to healing and growth. Therapy is a collaborative process, and I am here to support you every step of the way.

Somatic therapy enlists the innate intelligence of the body as a catalyst for health. Because mind-body disconnect is often related to our deepest wounds, somatic attunement is essential to healing. By bringing awareness to how emotions, sensations, thoughts & memories interconnect and influence each other, my clients gain a felt-sense of wholeness.
