It's my opinion (and research supports this) that building supportive spaces where individuals can explore their authentic selves and change unhelpful patterns is the most effective way to do therapy. I support the well-being of adults and adolescents experiencing overwhelming emotions, challenging histories, and complex mental health problems. All too often we trade expressing our genuine selves for safety, which can lead to blame, resentment, anxiety, and inexplicable grief.
Your children are a source love and light and it is disheartening when you just can't seem to connect together. Perhaps their big feelings put you on edge or make you avoid going out in public. Or perhaps you've noticed your child isn't as happy as they once were. Let's bring the light back into the home. Together we can build and strengthen your relationship. Let's find time to for you to enjoy one another again.
Stuck. Overwhelmed. Burned out. Numb. Invisible. Frustrated. Lonely. Misunderstood. Feeling behind. Nagging Doubts. Procrastinating. Shame. Fear of making mistakes. Hiding your self. Lost. Empty. Confused. You aren't sure how you got here. This isn't the life you imagined. You are searching for RELIEF. You’ve already tried what you know to feel better & still feel stuck. Does any of this feel familiar? I know that it IS possible to live the life you want. You DESERVE to feel solace and thrive!
Being human is often tough. Sometimes we lose our way and can feel stuck and overwhelmed. Sometimes we would like to change parts of our lives or ourselves but don’t know how. Therapy can be an empowering way to promote healing, growth, and wellness. Often, we initially seek treatment to address a specific concern and then begin to uncover other areas of our lives in which we want to make meaningful change. My goal is for this process to feel supportive, affirming, and appropriately challenging.
Most people will find themselves at one time or another experiencing trauma, difficult life transitions, or just feeling stuck. Maybe you've always struggled in relationships, or are just going through a difficult time and feel as though you've lost yourself. I will come alongside you to help accomplish your goals, start to understand yourself, and overall, feel better.
I work to empower women. My hope to is to build confidence in your ability to be the best human you can during these times. I have specific training in the maternal mental health field and also provide support to women in the childbearing stages of life. Whether you are hoping to start a family, experiencing difficulties in getting pregnant, navigating new motherhood and beyond.
I help clients who are experiencing gender dysphoria, anxiety, self-criticism and shame, who are wanting to challenge their inner critic and show compassion toward every part of themselves. I love helping clients deconstruct shame and develop shame resilience in order to build empathy and compassion for themselves.

You want to create a life with meaning that you enjoy living, but you don't know how. I’m here to be your teammate in the process. As a clinical psychologist, I specialize in the treatment of PTSD, BPD, and other trauma-related disorders and work together with my patients to create meaningful change.
Do you have intrusive thoughts that just wont go away? Always feeling anxious, distressed or even embarrassed by the thoughts. Do you feel the pull or urge to perform a certain task, maybe even a certain way to avoid feelings? You find yourself going over the same worse case scenario again and again. Anxiety and fear can be debilitating and keep you from living the life you want. You don't have to suffer anymore. I look forward to teaching you the tools so you can live the life you want.
My clients are sick and tired of being reactive to life, emotionally and physically. They want a calm mind and body and to know they are enough. They have had trauma, but they don't want it to define them. They are willing to be curious and brave and to dig into the deep places with me just long enough to do what they need to do to release it. They are people who want to untangle and say goodbye to the old stuff to make plenty of space to create the new.
If you’re struggling with life transitions, stress, feel traumatized, grief, anxiety, depression, women’s or lgbtq+ issues, gender expression/dysphoria, or just looking for ongoing therapy, I’m holding a safe space for you
Are you feeling overwhelmed, have difficulties focusing, continuously putting others before yourself, lacking confidence or often have thoughts of comparison? These challenges often impact self-esteem and self worth, which may contribute to increased anxiety or depression. I work with individuals struggling with ideas of perfectionism.
My sessions are a space for clients to safely explore their feelings, learn new ways to cope with stress, feel validated and supported, and improve their relationships. My clients are people facing challenges like anxiety, depression, difficulty managing their feelings, life transitions, and codependency. I also work with individuals in recovery and those questioning their relationship with alcohol, drugs, or other self-sabotaging behaviors.
I work best with LGBTQ+ clients who have a desire to learn about and explore their relationship with themselves, others, and the world around them to move towards a more integrated and holistic way of being. This may encompass reprocessing past traumas, responding to symptoms of depression and anxiety from a place of compassion, or developing new ways of expressing and sharing one's identity and self. I enjoy helping my clients to become more curious, resilient, insightful, and courageous.
It is important that we all feel seen and heard; we need that more than ever before. We need spaces created for us to heal wounds developed from adverse and traumatic experiences. We need room to acknowledge and address our pain. We need opportunity for self—self-reflection and expression. Leavell Counseling, LLC is committed to providing quality counseling services to individuals desiring more—more growth and more change. I look forward to supporting you in your process of growth and change.
Are you feeling sad, lacking energy, and feeling like something is wrong all of the time? Has your mood been up and down and you've found it As a client you will have a comfortable safe space to share freely without judgment. You can discuss substance use and if and why that might have increased for you recently. You can discuss any recent stressful life changes resulting in increased anxiety or depression. You can talk about sadness, fear, regret, and the feelings of all shapes and sizes.
Working with those who are dealing with issues related to anxiety, complex trauma, sex, and sexuality, my therapeutic approach incorporates compassion and progress at your pace. I do not work with insurance companies but can offer you paperwork to seek reimbursement for out-of-network services.
If you have ADHD, you're not broken—although it may often feel that way. If you're a neurodivergent (ND) person who has spent years trying to function the way neurotypical (NT) people do, you know that a lot of the advice you receive doesn’t seem to work. It's hard to solve ND problems using NT solutions. I can help you learn more about your ADHD patterns, identify areas in your life where ADHD is most challenging, and teach you effective strategies & techniques for managing your challenges.
Whether you have experienced a recent setback or are trying to come to terms with an ongoing struggle, my goal is to be an unbiased listener providing reflective and direct feedback to help you gain insight and clarity. I view my clients as the expert in their journey and my role is to provide encouragement and support in reaching your destination. I also assign homework to encourage self-reflection between sessions.
