Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a brain disorder that is typically characterized by a lack of impulse control, an inability to focus and pay attention, and hyperactivity. ADHD most commonly emerges in children and teens and can continue into adulthood. In fact, ADHD is the most common mental health disorder diagnosed in young people and sufferers often have trouble paying attention in school. ADHD must be diagnosed by a qualified clinician. In addition to medical interventions, seeing a mental health practitioner who specializes in the treatment of ADHD can help patients and their families better cope with many of the symptoms. I provide therapy to individuals with trauma and anxiety, using techniques that help them identify beliefs that keep them stuck in the past, learn to challenge them to be more positive, which then results in fewer overall distressing symptoms. I work with clients who want tools and strategies to make changes, not just passive talk about their past. My clients walk away from therapy with me feeling empowered, motivated, and in control of their lives and their futures.

Being human is often tough. Sometimes we lose our way and can feel stuck and overwhelmed. Sometimes we would like to change parts of our lives or ourselves but don’t know how. Therapy can be an empowering way to promote healing, growth, and wellness. Often, we initially seek treatment to address a specific concern and then begin to uncover other areas of our lives in which we want to make meaningful change. My goal is for this process to feel supportive, affirming, and appropriately challenging.

I enjoy working with clients who are up for a little work. I have a strong belief in the idea that therapy isn't something that is done to us, rather something we must take an active role in to see any true progress. I view therapy as another way to add more tools to our toolbox in an effort to better ourselves. My goal isn't to have a client for life; it is to teach the skills needed for my client to be their best selves, even after we have finished working together.
