Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a brain disorder that is typically characterized by a lack of impulse control, an inability to focus and pay attention, and hyperactivity. ADHD most commonly emerges in children and teens and can continue into adulthood. In fact, ADHD is the most common mental health disorder diagnosed in young people and sufferers often have trouble paying attention in school. ADHD must be diagnosed by a qualified clinician. In addition to medical interventions, seeing a mental health practitioner who specializes in the treatment of ADHD can help patients and their families better cope with many of the symptoms. I help clients who are trying to find their way through life with a core sense of shame and perfectionism. They often have issues around authenticity, self-worth, impostor syndrome, and holding boundaries that stem from patterns learned early in life. This can be a lonely experience, resulting in feeling deeply unseen by others & themselves. I help clients who are creative, neurodivergent, people-pleasing, and spiritually insightful feel seen, heard, and validated in a trauma-informed way.

I work with individuals and their families on issues related to trauma, self-harm, attachment struggles, individual and group relationship dynamics, domestic violence, relational boundaries, and how these factors and mental health symptoms play out in patterns in people’s lives. I’ve also worked with children and adolescents identifying as part of the LGBTQIA community, who inspire incredible strength and resilience.

Being human is often tough. Sometimes we lose our way and can feel stuck and overwhelmed. Sometimes we would like to change parts of our lives or ourselves but don’t know how. Therapy can be an empowering way to promote healing, growth, and wellness. Often, we initially seek treatment to address a specific concern and then begin to uncover other areas of our lives in which we want to make meaningful change. My goal is for this process to feel supportive, affirming, and appropriately challenging.
