Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based psychotherapy, first developed in the 1980s by Marsha M. Linehan, to treat patients suffering from borderline personality disorder. Since then, DBT’s use has broadened and now it is regularly employed as part of a treatment plan for people struggling with behaviors or emotions they can't control. This can include eating disorders, substance abuse, self-harm, and more. DBT is a skills-based approach that focuses on helping people increase their emotional and cognitive control by learning the triggers that lead to unwanted behaviors. Once triggers are identified, DBT teaches coping skills that include mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. A therapist specializing in DBT will help you to enhance your own capabilities, improve your motivation, provide support in-the-moment, and better manage your own life with problem-solving strategies. Think this approach might work for you? Reach out to one of TherapyDen’s DBT specialists today.

I am dedicated to providing a safe and supportive space where individuals and couples can reconnect with their core values, foster growth, and gain a deeper understanding of themselves and their journey through life. I aim to help you embrace your authentic self, navigate challenges, and create meaningful change. Are you ready to embark on this transformative journey to rediscover and honor your voice? Let’s walk this path together
I work with clients who may be struggling with big, difficult emotions due to issues such as a history of abuse, life transitions, and relationship challenges. The realization of how experiences affect us can lead to feelings of fear, shame, self-blame, anger, resentment, confusion, and powerlessness. I believe the solutions to resolving these feelings and creating change are within each of us but can feel out of our reach.

Being human is often tough. Sometimes we lose our way and can feel stuck and overwhelmed. Sometimes we would like to change parts of our lives or ourselves but don’t know how. Therapy can be an empowering way to promote healing, growth, and wellness. Often, we initially seek treatment to address a specific concern and then begin to uncover other areas of our lives in which we want to make meaningful change. My goal is for this process to feel supportive, affirming, and appropriately challenging.

I work with a wide variety of clients from individuals identifying as LGBTQIA, poly, & kink to cisgender heterosexual individuals. My clients tend to struggle with issues of identity, depression, bipolar disorder, gender dysphoria, anxiety, panic, trauma histories, ADHD, family of origin issues, grief and loss, life transitions, relationship issues, stress management/self care, & interpersonal effectiveness. Clients also tend to seek me out for letters of support for gender confirmation surgery.
Everyone deserves a safe therapeutic space and a chance to build a life worth living. I’m here to help with both. I believe in the transformative power of therapy in helping navigate life's challenges, cultivate self-awareness, and build resilience to enhance their quality of life. My specialty is working with individuals with Borderline Personality Disorder utilizing DBT. I also work with anxiety, depression, self-worth, trauma recovery, and life transitions.

I have noticed that often times creative, sensitive, intelligent people will have very unique problems in this world. They will carry around more anxiety from overthinking. They can become easily distracted and bored when they are not stimulated. And sometimes, intense emotional reactions can cycle into feelings of depression that can be difficult to navigate. I use creative interventions and positive coping strategies to help individuals find ways to be the best version of themselves.
