About My Clients
I firmly believe that people are beautifully imperfect beings—capable of incredible strength and resilience yet vulnerable to challenges that can hinder their happiness and fulfillment. It's in these moments of struggle and stagnation that I step in, guiding and supporting individuals toward unlocking their full potential and leading a more fulfilling life.
My Background and Approach
I graduated from Southwestern University with a bachelor's degree in psychology with a minor in Spanish in 2021. In 2023, I graduated from St. Edward's University with a master of arts degree in counseling. In the past year, I completed my internship at Capital Area Counseling. There, I worked with both adults and adolescents. My approach to therapy includes techniques from Collaborative Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT). My goal is to work collaboratively with clients to help them grow and fulfill their ambitions and provide a safe space for open expression. As your counselor, we will work together to develop a path of change that works best for you. Even though I have graduated, I am forever learning and researching different counseling areas for the client's benefit. It would be an honor to be a part of your journey of self-exploration and healing.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am an active member of the LGBTQ community. I was raised in a Puerto Rican-Colombian household by two immigrant parents alongside my brother. In college, I was president of APO, a co-ed fraternity that prides itself on its volunteer work. I also volunteered my time as a barista at the campus' student-led coffee shop. In my free time, I love to spend time with family and friends. I also play video games with Fall Guys, Mario Kart, and Crash Bandicoot being in my current rotation. I also enjoy watching bad movies; if you're looking for a fun time definitely check out The Meg or Madam Web. :-)
