About My Clients
Helena felt called to work in psychiatry because this medical specialty makes her feel the most human and continually shows her how to become a better person, and currently sees patients via telehealth. Outside of work, she enjoys all things active and outdoorsy, so much so that her friends describe her as “sweet, sassy, and a little bit Western.” She loves to experience different cultures and is trilingual, but considers herself a small town girl and a child at heart.
My Background and Approach
Helena accepts most insurance plans, and treats many mental health conditions including depression, sexual assault trauma, and anxiety. For patients who struggle to find success through traditional treatment methods, Heading also offers specialized treatments such as Intramuscular Ketamine, Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation, and Spravato in-clinic.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
She was born in the Philippines, but came to Texas as fast as she could. She studied international studies and chemistry at Baylor University, then health IT & informatics at the University of Texas at Austin. She worked in tech in Boston for three years, then returned to Austin to work on her post-baccalaureate. Helena obtained her Masters of Physician Assistant from Wichita State University in Kansas in July 2019 and was board certified on August 2019.
