About My Clients

You have been working through issues trying to use just your thoughts, but your emotions are running your life. You are struggling to get a hold of your feelings and create healthy relationships in your life. You are feeling like nothing is helping to bring yourself into emotional balance. When we only try to heal our emotional issues in our mind, we are missing a large part of where trauma and emotion live-- the body and spirit.

My Background and Approach

If you chose to work with me, we would work collaboratively in weekly therapy sessions to build self-awareness by exploring stories and patterns in your life that are blocking you from living the life you want. These stories can come from our personal experiences and stories society tells about who you are based on gender, race, sexuality, ability level, and socioeconomic status. You are the expert in your life, but sometimes all the internal chatter and noise clouds your vision. I work with you to tap into your inner wisdom to know what you need to do to create the life you want. I also incorporate mindfulness and somatic practices in my work so that we may slow down the process and tap into emotions and bodily sensations arising at the moment. Some clients also love incorporating mindful movement and breathwork into our sessions. I love to laugh with my clients and find joy in the process of healing.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am a psychotherapist, yoga therapist, and social justice activist committed to supporting people impacted by personal, systemic, and vicarious trauma to re-embody and reconnect. As a cisgender white woman, I actively engage in the ongoing process of decolonizing my mind, my communities, and society to work towards creating an anti-racist society. My journey of raising my consciousness of the impacts of white supremacy on my own life and the lives of others has led me into political organizing and integrating healing into those spaces. I also bring the process of decolonization into my work with clients to support us all in connecting more profoundly to ourselves, each other, and the earth that supports us.
