Grief and loss are a part of the human condition. Grief is typically considered to be brought on by the death of a loved one, but can also be triggered by any significant life-altering loss (such as a divorce or the loss of a job). Grief is a natural response to loss, but that doesn’t make it easy to deal with. Symptoms of grief may include sadness, loneliness, anger, denial, depression and a myriad of other thoughts and feelings. There is no “normal” amount of time for grief to pass, but if you find that your grief is not improving over time or that it is interfering with your everyday life, you may want to consider seeking professional help. A qualified grief counselor can help you to cope with the physical, emotional, social, spiritual, and cognitive responses to loss. Reach out to one of TherapyDen’s grief experts today.

Therapy is successful when you have a therapist who understands you AND knows how to help you. I work with men and women navigating relationships, marriage, anxiety/depression, major life transitions, and family conflicts all while trying to integrate two very different cultures – the one we’re born into and the one we’re living in. As a South Asian woman and a therapist for over 7 years, I understand how culture plays a huge role in our unique challenges and expectations.

My clients express frustration with relationships and a need for guidance at a difficult time. We are- many of us- working to heal from family conflict and to recover from disordered eating, insufficient sleep, and an overabundance of substance usage in society. Living in an atmosphere of fear, blame, and comparison we seek to grow and thrive in our current world.
I tend to work with folks who are curious about themselves, others, and the human condition in general. My clients often come to therapy recognizing that they have endured relational and/or societal trauma and knowing how it impacts them. However, they feel unsure of how to reckon with, heal, and integrate their traumatic experiences. My clients are ready to live more expansively, have more balanced relationships, and feel more grounded in their daily life but need support to get there.

Do you notice that you worry more about what others think of you than what you think of you? Maybe you look around the room and compare yourself to others. Are you always "watching your weight" or trying a new diet? At first you felt like you were controlling the food, but now it seems like the food is controlling you. It's all you can think about. I've been treating people with various levels of eating disorders for almost 20 years. You and I can work together to get your life back.

I help people who have experienced severe traumatic events (shootings, accidents, witnessed a loved one die, grieving a loved one,...). I also have people come to me to learn how to communicate in their relationships, parenting concerns, life transitions at any point in one's life, and daily stress. Sometimes my clients struggle to get out of bed in the morning, have difficulty with crying a lot or being very short tempered with others. They come to me because they feel stuck in their lives.
