Gender identity issues, sometimes called gender dysphoria or gender conflict, occur when an individual feels an inconsistency between their physical gender and the gender they truly feel or identify with. This most commonly exhibits itself as a physical discomfort with the gender one was assigned at birth, including the feeling of being in the wrong body. Children with gender dysphoria may express disgust of their own genitals or a certainty that they will grow up to be the opposite sex. Some individuals with gender identity issues treat this feeling by physically modifying their bodies to better match their gender identity. Gender dysphoria comes with it an increased risk for depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues, and bullying. Being human is often tough. Sometimes we lose our way and can feel stuck and overwhelmed. Sometimes we would like to change parts of our lives or ourselves but don’t know how. Therapy can be an empowering way to promote healing, growth, and wellness. Often, we initially seek treatment to address a specific concern and then begin to uncover other areas of our lives in which we want to make meaningful change. My goal is for this process to feel supportive, affirming, and appropriately challenging.

The people I work well with often feel misunderstood or dismissed by dominant culture. You deserve so much better than that. Please don't give up hope. The people I meet with are often their own awesome, unique blend of being Neurodivergent, Autistic, Trans, Gender nonconforming, Queer, Black, Native, or persons of culture, who have experienced trauma and anxiety due to being marginalized/abused/assaulted.

I work with people who are leading (or hoping to lead) unconventional lives: artists, activists, entrepreneurs, founders and creators. I also specialize in working with LGBTQIA+ folx and neurodivergent people (autism spectrum, gifted, ADHD, etc.) If you are at high risk for bunrout (which is a lot of us, given the current climate), I also offer coaching around preventing or dealing with burnout.
