Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a brain disorder that is typically characterized by a lack of impulse control, an inability to focus and pay attention, and hyperactivity. ADHD most commonly emerges in children and teens and can continue into adulthood. In fact, ADHD is the most common mental health disorder diagnosed in young people and sufferers often have trouble paying attention in school. ADHD must be diagnosed by a qualified clinician. In addition to medical interventions, seeing a mental health practitioner who specializes in the treatment of ADHD can help patients and their families better cope with many of the symptoms. Being human is often tough. Sometimes we lose our way and can feel stuck and overwhelmed. Sometimes we would like to change parts of our lives or ourselves but don’t know how. Therapy can be an empowering way to promote healing, growth, and wellness. Often, we initially seek treatment to address a specific concern and then begin to uncover other areas of our lives in which we want to make meaningful change. My goal is for this process to feel supportive, affirming, and appropriately challenging.

Feelings of being stuck in unhealthy cycles that cause challenges in relationships, social settings, and personal growth. People live in fear of the unknown and what change will produce in an already chaotic existence. Change is good! Stepping outside of your comfort zone and feeling uncomfortable brings potential to a better you. Let me guide you through this journey.

My clients have similar personalities and traits. Most are coming in because they have decided they are finished allowing perfectionism and the need for control to continue to prevent them from experiencing congruency with their values and goals in life.
