About My Clients
Do you often feel anxious, sad, or stuck? Maybe you're having trouble in relationships or with your family, dealing with the effects of a difficult experience, or going through a tough period. It could be that you're questioning your identity or facing challenges from societal or family pressures while trying to discover your true self. Life doesn't always have to be so difficult. I will support you where you are and guide you toward becoming the person you want to be.
My Background and Approach
I earned my Masters of Science in Clinical Psychology from Benedictine University. I began my career at Gateway Foundation for Substance Use Disorders supporting those who have experienced Trauma. It was there that I discovered my passion for helping those who are seeking to learn new ways of managing their traumas. Currently, I specialize in assisting those who are struggling with anxiety, depression, life transitions, boundary setting, trauma, LGBTQ+ issues, family/relationship conflict, and more. I take a trauma-informed, holistic approach to mental health care and incorporate various therapeutic modalities as appropriate, depending on your needs. I hope to give clients tangible skills to work toward their goals and create real change in their lives.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I do “deeper” work, rewiring the nervous system, addressing themes, and addressing what really gets in the way of the life you desire. I work with both individuals and couples, helping people address what gets in the way of creating the life and relationships that they deserve. I am the first to be born in this country, coming from a large Filipino family. I get the struggle of feeling like life is one crisis after another. Through my own continuous work, I have been able to heal (it really is a lifelong journey). And I want to be able to provide a space for others to do the same. As someone who is in a committed relationship with someone of a different race, I understand the clash of cultures both personally and professionally and use this to inform my work with those who also have diverse backgrounds including interracial marriages and partnerships.
