Attachment focused relationship therapy from a sex-positive lens for queer and/or trans people. I support people looking for more effective communication with their partner(s), and more insight into the ways that each of our attachment wounds shows up in our intimate relationships. I work with people wanting to explore their gender and sexuality, and what it means to them in the context of their relationships.
The people I work well with often feel misunderstood or dismissed by dominant culture. You deserve so much better than that. Please don't give up hope. The people I meet with are often their own awesome, unique blend of being Neurodivergent, Autistic, Trans, Gender nonconforming, Queer, Black, Native, or persons of culture, who have experienced trauma and anxiety due to being marginalized/abused/assaulted.
I provide therapy for young to middle-aged adults from various backgrounds of ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, and socioeconomic status. My focus of work is with individuals struggling with high sensitivity (HSPs), perfectionism, trauma, anxiety, and depression, as well as couples that are looking to establish more effective communication patterns and are in need of healing their relationship dynamic. *Note: I am only seeing clients via Telehealth at this time.*
My specialty areas include navigating infertility and childlessness, managing anxiety, ADHD, stress around work, family, dating, relationships, college and life transitions. I am licensed in and accepting clients from Oregon, New York and Washington.
My ideal client is someone looking to make a change, needing support and/ or a new approach. Most of my clients are seeking a higher quality of life. I work with Eating Disorders, Anxiety, Depression, OCD, Social Phobia, Difficult Life Transitions, and Work/ Life Balance.
Have you have lost the spark in your relationship? Are struggling through conflict and strain? Are being impacted by childhood trauma and attachment concerns? Possibly you are hoping to strengthen an already strong relationship? We all bring our unique selves, our pasts, and family histories into each relationship. It can be challenging to find balance and harmony with so many different factors interacting with each other. Using a collaborative approach, I can help clear the pathway forward.
I tend to work particularly well with clients who have non-traditional paths/orientations: creatives, entrepreneurs, artists, LGBTQ folks, people navigating poly relationships, and anyone who feels like they don’t (or choose not to) fit cultural expectations. I enjoy helping people connect to their authentic selves and foster agency, growth, integrity, connection, and transformation.
I specialize in sexuality concerns and working with LGBQI, Trans*/GNC, kinky, and poly-identified clients. I also work with many heterosexual and monogamous clients. My approach fosters a space where you can be unapologetically YOU. My perspective is sex-positive and uses a harm reduction lens.
Treatment specialization includes: I work with women individually ACOA's Recovery from Addictive and Dysfunctional families, Grief Counseling, Building Resilience, Stress Management, Self Esteem Building, Honoring Creativity, Mind-Body Therapy, Living a Happy Life, Trauma and Abuse Recovery, Personal Growth and Development, Therapy for Depression and Anxiety, Building Relationship with Yourself and with Others.
Do you want to have better sex and/or a better relationship? Maybe you’re struggling with a sexual concern such as sexual anxiety, mismatched sexual desire in your relationship, erectile dysfunction, low sexual desire, sexual pain, or sexual trauma. Maybe you and your partner are struggling with communication issues, open relationships/ethical non-monogamy dynamics, infidelity, or past hurts. I’m here to support you so that you can have a more connecting relationship & fulfilling sex life.
You as the client may need a supportive space to explore emotional experiences, systemic challenges, or relationship upset. Therapy should be a place to connect with vulnerable parts of yourself, heal, and grow. As a therapist, I consider it my job to help you to feel more grounded, more empowered, and more confident in your own ability to create the life and relationships you want and need. I want to collaborate with you to reach your goals and become more of who you are.
2/21/24: ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS for Medication Management (not taking clients for therapy). Complete Patient Inquiry Form on website (drdiannaharris.com). I don't treat ADHD and I don't prescribe controlled substances, such as Xanax for anxiety.
Maybe you’re having trouble “adulting”. Your mental health is getting worse, day by day, and you just want it to stop. Your daily life is chaos and worry and you remember better days when things just weren't like this. You might feel like you’re out of control of your life. You’re tired of doing the same things over and over again with no results. Maybe you’re seeing your child, partner, or loved one facing their own mental health challenges and you feel helpless to create change.

Radical Counseling for Highly Sensitive People to transform anxiety, overwhelm & self-blame. I specialize in helping Highly Sensitive People, especially GenX & Millennials to transform their anxiety, overwhelm & self-blame into the clarity, self-esteem and personal authority to create the fulfilled, purpose-driven, soul-centered life of their dreams.
Because my 30+ years of counseling experience has privileged me to know people in many settings and from all walks of life, my practice reflects that: Clients come from varied backgrounds & experiences. I see Adults only, and as a systemically trained therapist, I consider relationships important even when I'm seeing clients only in individual sessions.
My clients are often women (but, not always) seeking clarity and support around their current life situations, changes and challenges - Maybe it's trying for or having a new child while balancing work, social and interpersonal relationships. Maybe it's processing loss/grief/change - including a influential person, a job, a move to a new city, a role in life (parenting). We can identify and practice shame resilience skills. We go through change all the time and you don't have to be alone with it.
I usually work with ambitious women, entrepreneurs, business owners, financial advisors, licensed therapists, executives, and creatives. They are eager for change, open to introspection, ready to face their role in their struggles, open-minded to new approaches, and dedicated to therapeutic practices for personal growth.
