Just like any other group, the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning (LGBTQ) community faces mental health issues and unique challenges. However, LGBTQ individuals are almost 3 times more likely than others to experience a mental health condition, such as depression or anxiety. Additionally, more than half of individuals who identify as transgender experience depression or anxiety. The LGBTQ community is also at a higher risk for suicide. Young people are even more at risk, as they may experience a lack of support at home and fear, hatred or prejudice in school. If you are a member of the LGBTQ community and are facing mental health challenges, you don’t have to suffer in silence. Reach out to one of TherapyDen’s LGBTQ experts and get help today.

I work with neurotypical and neurodiverse individuals facing challenges such as substance (mis)use, BPD, depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, OCD, and life transitions. I’ll walk with you through your therapy journey, supporting you through tough moments and celebrating your growth and clarity, while tailoring sessions to your unique needs and goals.

I am passionate about working with Black men; however, I also have a strong passion for working with survivors of sexual violence, adults who have experienced childhood sexual abuse, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, and kink-friendly couples. I enjoy helping clients with understanding their sexual expression, learning more about consent and setting boundaries, and improving intimacy within their relationships.

I believe connection is key when choosing a therapist! I have been described as genuine, down to earth, and easy to talk with by both youth and adults. Talking about difficult emotions and asking for help can be hard. Sometimes it may be easier and more meaningful to express yourself in more creative ways in addition to traditional talk therapy. I enjoy working with youth (ages 7+) and adults.

Being human is often tough. Sometimes we lose our way and can feel stuck and overwhelmed. Sometimes we would like to change parts of our lives or ourselves but don’t know how. Therapy can be an empowering way to promote healing, growth, and wellness. Often, we initially seek treatment to address a specific concern and then begin to uncover other areas of our lives in which we want to make meaningful change. My goal is for this process to feel supportive, affirming, and appropriately challenging.
