Just like any other group, the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning (LGBTQ) community faces mental health issues and unique challenges. However, LGBTQ individuals are almost 3 times more likely than others to experience a mental health condition, such as depression or anxiety. Additionally, more than half of individuals who identify as transgender experience depression or anxiety. The LGBTQ community is also at a higher risk for suicide. Young people are even more at risk, as they may experience a lack of support at home and fear, hatred or prejudice in school. If you are a member of the LGBTQ community and are facing mental health challenges, you don’t have to suffer in silence. Reach out to one of TherapyDen’s LGBTQ experts and get help today.

Whether you're a chronic people-pleaser, high-achieving perfectionist, socially anxious introvert, gifted and highly sensitive, or a blend of these, it can be a tough path to bear in adulthood. These are the groups of clients I specialize in working with and my clients often give feedback that, with me, they feel deeply seen and understood - in many cases, for the first time. This experience alone is the first crucial step towards experiencing relief, growth, healing, and living a better life.

Being human is often tough. Sometimes we lose our way and can feel stuck and overwhelmed. Sometimes we would like to change parts of our lives or ourselves but don’t know how. Therapy can be an empowering way to promote healing, growth, and wellness. Often, we initially seek treatment to address a specific concern and then begin to uncover other areas of our lives in which we want to make meaningful change. My goal is for this process to feel supportive, affirming, and appropriately challenging.

Childhood trauma sucks. When you're raised in dysfunctional family, you end up doubting your self-worth, questioning your lovability, and always waiting for the other shoe to drop. Are you needy or reactive in your relationships? Is it hardest to feel secure with the people who matter to you the most? Are you always just a little anxious? If you want to be less reactive and controlling with your loved ones and handle family of origin better, I’m your person. And I truly can’t wait to meet you.

Do you wonder how you will find a therapist who offers a safe space to discuss LGBTQ concerns and challenges and also advocates for equality? Do you want to work with a counselor who does not judge your feelings of anxiety and uneasiness about a new medical diagnosis, new medical diagnosis, graduating from college, starting a new job or starting a new business? I look forward to working with you to find clarity and joy in your life.

My passions lay in working with a variety of clients, particularly with those who are neurodivergent, queer, healthcare professionals, and/or college students. I enjoy working with all ages and my passion includes working with clients who are seeking a counselor who accepts them for who they are and may have had bad experiences in the past with counseling. I focus most on the therapeutic relationship so much of our work together will be through our conversations together. I don't "workbook".

I enjoy partnering with clients on relationship issues, anxiety, and general life stressors. I also identify as queer and enjoy working with the LGBTQIA+ community with adults 16+ years old. As a therapist, I continue to engage in anti-racist and decolonization work that actively influence my practice.
