About My Clients

Do you wonder how you will find a therapist who offers a safe space to discuss LGBTQ concerns and challenges and also advocates for equality? Do you want to work with a counselor who does not judge your feelings of anxiety and uneasiness about a new medical diagnosis, new medical diagnosis, graduating from college, starting a new job or starting a new business? I look forward to working with you to find clarity and joy in your life.

My Background and Approach

I have a background in individual and group counseling for adults. I received my Master's Degree in Clinician Mental Health Counseling from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte. My counseling career started out working with individuals at a homeless shelter and women in a domestic violence shelter. My role as your counselor is to help you understand your thoughts and feelings more clearly and possibly provide some insight into why your thoughts make you feel uncomfortable or tangled up inside. We can work collaboratively to develop a personalized process of comprehension, compassion, and empathy toward yourself.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe everyone deserves to live a life that is filled with mental wellness. What does mental wellness look like? For some, this means a plan to calm feelings of anxiety when they become overwhelming while for others it could be a list of personalized options to avoid intense anger or feelings of despair. I am here to work with you to discover and integrate mental wellness techniques into your life that work for you. One size does not fit all when it comes to mental health. I am an advocate for mental health issues such as suicide prevention, LGBTQIA+ challenges, equality, and self-care. Mindfulness and mediation are a part of my everyday life and I feel they can help many individuals create a sense of calm in their daily life.
