Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a classic talk therapy technique that helps increase awareness of negative thinking in order to better handle challenging situations. In addition to helping those with mental health disorders (such as anxiety or depression), CBT is also helpful for anyone who is looking to learn how to manage stressful situations. Therapists that use CBT often have a structured program, which involves a set number of sessions. CBT is frequently paired with other treatments, such as medication, when necessary. I work with neurotypical and neurodiverse individuals facing challenges such as substance (mis)use, BPD, depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, OCD, and life transitions. I’ll walk with you through your therapy journey, supporting you through tough moments and celebrating your growth and clarity, while tailoring sessions to your unique needs and goals.

My clients are often facing a significant loss, grief, trauma, or significant life transition (divorce, job loss, illness). Often they are experiencing anxiety, stress or depression. I will work to understand your unique story and to increase awareness, deepen understanding, and support progress towards your personal goals. I primarily work with young adults (17+), adults and elders from all cultural, racial and religious backgrounds. I am LGBTQIA+ affirming and sex positive.

Being human is often tough. Sometimes we lose our way and can feel stuck and overwhelmed. Sometimes we would like to change parts of our lives or ourselves but don’t know how. Therapy can be an empowering way to promote healing, growth, and wellness. Often, we initially seek treatment to address a specific concern and then begin to uncover other areas of our lives in which we want to make meaningful change. My goal is for this process to feel supportive, affirming, and appropriately challenging.
