Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a mental health condition that's triggered by a traumatic, scary or dangerous event. PTSD can be caused by either witnessing or experiencing the trauma. Events that sometimes trigger PTSD include everything from sexual assault, war, and violence, to car accidents or other incidents that could cause loss of life. It is not at all uncommon for people who go through something traumatic to have temporary difficulty coping and acute symptoms, but with time, they usually get better. However, if the symptoms last longer than a month, get worse rather than better and affect your ability to function, you may be suffering from PTSD. Symptoms of PTSD may include severe anxiety, anger, nightmares, trouble sleeping, flashbacks to the event, frightening thoughts, avoidance of situations or places, feeling on edge and/or being easily startled. If you think you may be experiencing PTSD, reach out to one of TherapyDen’s specialists today to get help.

My clients tend to be those suffering from the disease of addiction (i.e. nicotine, alcohol, marijuana, caffeine, prescription drugs, illicit drugs, etc.). Knowing that addiction isn't the only thing that one struggles with, I specialize in healing the co-occurring disorder (i.e. depression, anxiety, trauma / PTSD, ADHD, personality disorders, etc.). If you or someone you love has an addiction and would like to know how to heal from it, please feel free to reach out.

I work primarily with individuals and adolescents struggling with anxiety, self esteem, depression, LGBTQ+issues, highly sensitive people and empaths. I also work with couples and families as I believe that in order to best understand a client, I must also understand the family and system that they come from. I particularly love working with adolescents because I know first hand how tough those years can be.

Shame. Guilt. Anxiety. Depression. These are some of the most common issues and also the ones that are the most difficult to talk about and work through. They can be hurdles we have to overcome to reach our goals in life. Much of these issues surround the topic of sex, whether that be sexual orientation, gender identity, relationship dynamics, or religious experiences. My aim is to challenge stigmas and normalize sexual communication to manage all those negative thoughts and feelings.

I work with patients that span the age range from 6 to 100. Beyond medication management, I use a blend of therapies like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (for anxiety and depression), Exposure Response Prevention (for OCD), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (for Trauma) and Solution-Focused Therapy (for immediate improvement and better outcomes).
