About My Clients

I serve children, teens, and adults who are interested in learning more about how their brain works and what tools and techniques will be best suited to support them - in school, at home, in communities, and in the workplace. Many clients come to me because I specialize in an affirming approach to autism and ADHD evaluations. As a queer, neurodivergent person myself, my hope is that my services are as safe, comfortable, and informed as possible.

My Background and Approach

With over 15 years of experience working directly with families and children, I offer a compassionate and integrated approach through a variety of evidence-based modalities. My quality psychological evaluations result in a comprehensive psychological report, and I aim to "tell the story" of an individual rather than simply assign a "label." All evaluations yield individualized recommendations for home, school, and therapeutic environments. Following evaluation, I provide a client-centered, in-depth feedback session aimed at empowerment.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I closely follow the work of autistic self-advocates and leaders in the neurodiversity movement such as Dr. Devon Price and Dr. Nick Walker. I improve my work through self-reflection, learning, reading, and advocacy. For adult autism evaluations, I utilize measures that are appropriate for adults rather than relying on measures best suited for children. I recognize populations that have been left out of our diagnostic samples. As a white psychologist, I recognize my own privilege in access to systems of care. I recognize the harm that colonial mentality in mental health has done and I recognize the harm that the field of psychology in particular has committed against individuals and communities of the global majority. Through research and reading of BIPOC neurodivergent authors and advocates themselves, as well as understanding the limits of our current diagnostic standards, and engaging in deep listening and humility, I aim to provide a safe environment for all my clients.
