About My Clients
When you work with me we will work together as a team to help you gain the knowledge and skills to help you be successful in the future. In my graduate program I got a lot of experience working with neuroqueer clients from a range of youth to older adults. I have worked with those who have had a diagnosis of ADHD and Autism as well as those who are newly diagnosed and figuring out their new identity as a neurodivergent individual.
My Background and Approach
I like to use a variety of approaches and interventions in my sessions to include a blend of newer and older approaches such as games, expressive arts, talk therapy, and mindfulness exercises. Research shows that a person’s physical health can contribute to their mental health so I will also integrate a wellness approach where it seems fit.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am an active member of the LGTBQ+ community and have been since high school. I have always strived to complete trainings that will help me be the most informed therapist I can be in working with them. Now my goal is to also advocate and be the most informed on the neurodivergent community. I have learned through my time of internship how research is behind on how to provide affirming care to the community and rather than work toward having an individual change their behaviors, I want to help neurodivergent individuals become successful by being their authentic self. Every client who walks through my door will be treated with dignity and respect for who they are and what journey they have been through.
