About My Clients
Our clients are wonderfully neurodiverse. We specialize in group programming for ADHD, apraxia, autism, and stuttering - with a focus on improving our clients' quality of life. It's our mission to provide engaging therapy in real-world contexts! We love teaching kids about how their brains work, and giving them the tools they need to learn & communicate with confidence.
My Background and Approach
Zoah Speech & Outreach was founded by a Shyanne Heise, MA, CCC-SLP - a speech-language pathologist (SLP) with a particular interest in cognitive-communication therapy for individuals with neurological differences. After years of working in private practice, teaching a senior-level course on neuro-communication, and co-treating clients with an occupational therapist, Shyanne opened Zoah Speech & Outreach. Now, she programs engaging sensory, motor, cognitive, and communication programs for kids with diagnoses like ADHD, apraxia, autism, and stuttering. Shyanne was an outdoor trip leader, climbing wall coordinator, gear shop manager, high ropes course supervisor, and wilderness first responder (WFR) for 4 years before earning her master's degree in speech-language pathology. She combined her knowledge of outdoor recreation and communication sciences to form the first indoor rock climbing group therapy program in Colorado Springs, CO.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
We believe that kids don't learn best when sitting down--they learn best when they move, interact, engage, and get curious. We know that all children can learn and grow, just not in the same way. We love teaching kids executive functioning and self-regulation skills to improve learning, and equipping them with tools and strategies to foster their success in both social and academic settings. We empower them to communicate who they are with the world!
