Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a mental health condition that's triggered by a traumatic, scary or dangerous event. PTSD can be caused by either witnessing or experiencing the trauma. Events that sometimes trigger PTSD include everything from sexual assault, war, and violence, to car accidents or other incidents that could cause loss of life. It is not at all uncommon for people who go through something traumatic to have temporary difficulty coping and acute symptoms, but with time, they usually get better. However, if the symptoms last longer than a month, get worse rather than better and affect your ability to function, you may be suffering from PTSD. Symptoms of PTSD may include severe anxiety, anger, nightmares, trouble sleeping, flashbacks to the event, frightening thoughts, avoidance of situations or places, feeling on edge and/or being easily startled. If you think you may be experiencing PTSD, reach out to one of TherapyDen’s specialists today to get help.
I have experience working with individuals that struggle with anxiety, depression, substance use and personality disorders. I have been able to assist my clients with identifying triggers to their symptoms and identify tools needed to manage their overall functioning.

My clients often struggle with anxiety, overthinking, and self-doubt. They may have difficulty building or maintaining meaningful relationships, leading to negative self-talk. They seek a space to feel understood, learn to cope with negative feelings, and express emotions in healthy ways. As we explore their past and how it impacts the present, they gain self-awareness, confidence, and the skills needed to make meaningful changes in their lives.

Although open to all individuals, my ideal focus in therapy is working with adult clients experiencing trauma related to grief, loss, and bereavement. Broadly, this may encompass grief related to the loss of a loved one, coping with a recent diagnosis, life-limiting illness, or other major life event. My approach uses interfaith spirituality and counseling, which can help those in traumatic experiences, but also help those going through existential and spiritual challenges.

I do my best work with clients who are open-minded and motivated to actively engage in therapy to improve their lives. Whether they’re dealing with anxiety, depression, stressful life transitions, relationship difficulties, or other challenges, they seek a deeper connection to themselves to navigate a world that can often feel confusing and unjust. They understand that mental health goes far beyond the mind, recognizing the connection between the mind, body, and even the spirit.

Clients seek me out and work with me because, as they tell me, I'm pretty no nonsense. Just like you - they were ready for change but not really thrilled their lives have gotten to this point. They are exhausted, drained and ready for change. They seek support, awareness and direction as they find what works for them, and them alone. My clients seek me out because 'something' isn't right or working well for them and, often, while they know what that is, they want a hand to move forward.
