I incorporate elements of ACT, including mindfulness, acceptance, and values-based work.
I use a CBT approach in treating depression, anxiety (e.g., exposure therapy), eating disorders (Fairburn's CBT-E), and insomnia. By far, CBT has the most research evidence to support its efficacy in treating depression, eating disorders, and anxiety disorders.
I have extensive training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and draw from it to help individuals who experience frequent conflict, intense emotions, and anger management. I also integrate DBT in the treatment of eating disorders.
We treat issues relating to ARFID, binge eating disorder, bulimia nervosa, anorexia nervosa, and night eating syndrome. Dr. Sala is trained in Family Based Treatment for children/adolescents with eating disorders. We also treat eating disorders using Dr. Fairburn's Enhanced Cognitive Behavioral Treatment.
I work with individuals who are experiencing stress-related/emotional eating and the negative consequences of overweight or obesity. I have training in the most current, evidenced-based methods for promoting healthy lifestyle changes. My approach is behavioral, and I also incorporate mindfulness and acceptance-based strategies. I also work with individuals pre- and post- bariatric surgery. I am accepting of people of all weights and sizes in my approach.
I work with couples who are experiencing relationship distress, infidelity, adjustments/transitions, difficulties with emotional/physical intimacy, and difficulties managing intense emotions as well as couples seeking relationship enhancement. I deliver couples therapy from an Integrative Behavioral Couples Therapy (IBCT) lens. I also integrate other techniques, such as Gottman and Cognitive Behavioral Couple Therapy, as needed.
We provide therapy services to children, adolescents, and families . We also work with parents in supporting their children.
