Every relationship comes with its fair share of issues. Navigating the complexities of life together is hard enough, but when you start to feel regularly distressed or hopeless, about your relationship, it may be time to seek professional help. No matter what your issues seem to stem from (disagreements about money, sex, stress, chronic illness, mental illness, infidelity, trust, emotional distance, parenting etc.), if you and your partner are arguing more frequently and experiencing feelings of resentment or contempt, it is likely that there are some underlying problems to address. Because many problems in relationships are a result of communication issues, a qualified mental health therapist can teach you to find new ways of talking to each other to help you find your way back to common ground. Shame. Guilt. Anxiety. Depression. These are some of the most common issues and also the ones that are the most difficult to talk about and work through. They can be hurdles we have to overcome to reach our goals in life. Much of these issues surround the topic of sex, whether that be sexual orientation, gender identity, relationship dynamics, or religious experiences. My aim is to challenge stigmas and normalize sexual communication to manage all those negative thoughts and feelings.

I specialize in working with clients who are struggling with trauma, boundaries, anxiety, relationship issues, & life transitions. Many of my clients identify as people-pleasers or express difficulty putting themselves first. Some feel they have lost themselves in their work or relations, or find themselves being their own worst critic. Together, we explore the past experiences, emotions, and thought patterns that may be getting in the way of living more authentically &aligned with their values.

Because my 30+ years of counseling experience has privileged me to know people in many settings and from all walks of life, my practice reflects that: Clients come from varied backgrounds & experiences. I see Adults only, and as a systemically trained therapist, I consider relationships important even when I'm seeing clients only in individual sessions.
