Just like any other group, the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning (LGBTQ) community faces mental health issues and unique challenges. However, LGBTQ individuals are almost 3 times more likely than others to experience a mental health condition, such as depression or anxiety. Additionally, more than half of individuals who identify as transgender experience depression or anxiety. The LGBTQ community is also at a higher risk for suicide. Young people are even more at risk, as they may experience a lack of support at home and fear, hatred or prejudice in school. If you are a member of the LGBTQ community and are facing mental health challenges, you don’t have to suffer in silence. Reach out to one of TherapyDen’s LGBTQ experts and get help today.

Being human is often tough. Sometimes we lose our way and can feel stuck and overwhelmed. Sometimes we would like to change parts of our lives or ourselves but don’t know how. Therapy can be an empowering way to promote healing, growth, and wellness. Often, we initially seek treatment to address a specific concern and then begin to uncover other areas of our lives in which we want to make meaningful change. My goal is for this process to feel supportive, affirming, and appropriately challenging.

I believe in my clients to have the ability to make changes and live the life they want. I do not have set expectations but work with each person individually. I think of our relationship as a partnership and I am here to help you identify goals and the areas of your life you want to work on. The concerns I have helped clients with include depression, anxiety, family conflict, parenting, marriage, relationship issues, school issues, PTSD, divorce, LBGTQ and co-parenting.

Are you ready to be actively involved in healing your perception of dis-ease, and taking responsibility for creating the life you are meant to live? James Baldwin stated that not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced. If you are ready to play an active role in your healing, wish to go beyond talk therapy, and desire to include spirituality and the body-mind connection in your personal growth work, then I may be the holistic theracoach for you.

Our clinicians cover a wide range of specialties like LGBTQ+, couples, children, adolescents, aging issues, veterans, trauma, anger management, life adjustments, and more. We have counselors and social workers who work with diverse populations and will work with our clients to find the best fit for them.
My clients are highly motivated adults and teens ready to reflect on the past to change their future. This is a place where you can explore your identities and practice unmasking. Redefine or hone each aspect of you, including gender, sexuality, dis/ability, neurodivergence, racial, and career identities as well as your social identities (geek, emo, etc). When you feel more like yourself, you will feel safe to connect with others and build communities where you can exist authentically.
