With each change in our life, there needs to be a time of transition. In children, unprocessed and unacknowledged grief over a sudden change or loss in their life can shows up as disrupted sleep or appetite, increased changes in their moods, shifts in their behaviors (i.e. regressing developmentally), academic issues, or more. In the therapeutic safe space, I offer children the ability to be in control of their situation so they can explore different narratives to the life-changing transition.

I help children to slow down and develop an increased self-awareness about their frustration and anger levels. As your child slows down and develops more understanding about their anger and aggression, their ability to express their needs in a productive manner and to calm down faster after frustrations increases.

I am passionate about helping kids know that they, their experiences, and their emotions matter. I want to come alongside parents and help your relationship with your child blossom and thrive. I particularly care deeply for children who struggle with anger, anxiety, and perfectionism, have experienced grief and loss, and/or medical trauma. I strive to empower children with the language to advocate for themselves and to value their own identity and story through our time together.

My primary approach for working alongside you and your child in therapy is to use play therapy, particularly Child-Centered Play Therapy and Gestalt Play Therapy. Play is serious learning and the work of childhood, as Mr. Rogers says. Play provides a safe medium through which children can safely process their experiences and emotions.
