About My Clients

I work with a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues and create a personalized approach tailored to each individual client. In addition to my regular rates, I offer sliding scale pricing to include most people who are uninsured or unable to afford high-cost therapy. Mental health and wellness should be accessible to everyone.

My Background and Approach

I became a therapist because I am passionate about helping people find relief from emotional suffering and live more peaceful and fulfilling lives. I have experience working with relationship problems, depression, anxiety, ocd, ptsd, grief/loss, divorce, developmental trauma, and other emotional and behavioral issues. Therapeutically, I tend to be direct. I am focused on client empowerment, looking for the best tools and solutions that you can begin using immediately. Treating problems from every angle achieves deeper, more lasting healing. We'll look at the origins of your issues and how they've taken hold in your life. My clients often tell me that they quickly feel comfortable in sessions with me, I believe this contributes considerably to the success of our therapy. Don't be afraid to reach out, I'm here for you.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

You may be wondering if therapy can help you see yourself more clearly. I had similar questions when I began my own therapeutic journey. Before pursuing therapy myself, I read self-help books, listened to podcasts, confided in friends, and probably thought about my problems way too much. But I learned that I am fascinated by human behavior and I believe people are capable of more than they think they are. In truth, the process of self-discovery never really ends, but getting help with it will lessen the burden and demystify the things that come up along the way. I grew up in Seattle, but after moving to Austin almost 25 years ago, I've found it to be a home with lots to offer: natural beauty, music, good friends, and a restaurant scene I have fallen in love with, although I'm still looking for a perfectly cooked salmon! I live with my husband and our blended family - including three teenagers - in a household where there is ALWAYS someone in the kitchen making food.
