About My Clients
Have you been experiencing health issues or chronic pain? Are you struggling to adjust to a new diagnosis and figure out what that means for your present and future? Are you someone who previously led a vibrant, active life, and are grieving that loss? Maybe you are starting to consider that traumatic events have contributed to your current challenges. Together we can discuss what has happened in the past, what is presently going on in your life, and envision your future.
My Background and Approach
I graduated from Johns Hopkins University (MS, Mental Health Counseling) and am licensed in North Carolina (LCMHCA #A16390). I offer telehealth therapy (online only) and am excited about the convenience and accessibility that this format offers clients - we can work together from across the state. In the course of our work together, we can use an integrative approach that weaves together exploration of thought patterns, connecting to your experience in your body, and practices of mindfulness, meditation, or movement. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a compelling and effective modality to work with trauma. I'm also a registered yoga teacher and have pursued trainings focused on practices specifically for mental health and chronic pain.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I understand that you are the expert in your own life. I am committed to carrying out this work with respect for your dignity, personal power, and choices. I honor an individual’s identity, perspective and experience and I aspire to practice counseling in a way that considers social justice, cultural sensitivity, inclusivity, and accessibility.
