My Background and Approach
I am a National Certified Licensed Professional Counselor and Telehealth Provider in Arizona. I find EMDR to be profoundly helpful. I also use ego state work and Internal Family Systems with many of my clients to facilitate lasting and deep transformation. I do monthly consultations for complex trauma with experts in the field. I am a EMDR Consultant in Training (CIT). I have experience working with a diversity of people, including Spanish speaking and people who may identify as bicultural/ mestizo, transnational and/ or Indigenous. I also love working with the LGBTQIA+ community, artists, creatives and social justice advocates. My background is in grassroots community work including migration, Domestic Violence, homelessness, therapeutic art work and solidarity with Border and Indigenous coalitions. I generally work with adults in English, Spanglish and Spanish.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a life long intersectional feminist, humanist and book nerd. Growing up in a culturally diverse city as well as the LGBTIA+ community has shaped who I am. Having the privilege of travel in my 20s opened up my world even more when I lived in Oaxaca Mexico for 6 months. This trip forever shapes how I view happiness and relationships. I am currently a parent to two teens and we are a multiracial and transnational family. Both my partner (Mexico) and I (Canada) are immigrants to the US.
