Are you dealing with a major life transition? Maybe you've had a new baby, moved to a new town or city, started a new job, started college or dealing with a career change. If so, then I want to walk with you on the journey to exploring the possibilities for the future.
In session, we will work to identify and try to understand the sadness, lethargy, angst, worry and fear associated with depression. We will work together to identify possible outlets and coping mechanisms, so we can get a better understanding of how to come through on the other side.
Breathing exercises, body scan meditations, and guided imagery are also often used in mindfulness approaches.
Offer non-judgemental space with an emphasis on respect for differences in opinions, values, and attitudes of various cultures and different types of people.
CBT focuses on challenging and changing unhelpful cognitive distortions and behaviors, improving emotional regulation, and the development of personal coping strategies that target solving current problems.
Clients tend to describe their anxiety symptoms as nervousness, fear, apprehension, and worry. In session, we will identify ways to cope with the anxiety and to develop a deeper understanding of its origins.
