Hello, my name is Zoe and I am a mental health counselor based in Seattle. I currently have openings for new clients.
Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate in Kirkland, WA
Supervised by Allison White, LMFT
I believe in a structured, evidence-based approach to treating PTSD. I am trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD and work together with my clients to explore how trauma and PTSD have impacted different areas of their lives to re-build self-confidence and increase management over unhelpful symptoms and thought patterns.
Depression can be complicated, and not one treatment is going to be the same. I enjoy working with my clients to explore their perception of the world and themselves, and how that relates to feelings of depression. I believe that offering adjustments to how we practice kindness towards ourselves and identifying and working through difficult feelings has offered great benefits to those struggling with depression.
Anxiety and panic may come in waves, be situational, or feel never-ending. I want to work with my clients to re-build feelings of confidence with emotional expression and offer concrete coping skills to work through symptoms of anxiety and panic.
Majority of my clinical career has been involved in teaching my clients DBT-based curriculum. I believe that DBT can offer something for everyone. Some people may benefit from having more concrete coping skills to aid in emotional regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, mindfulness practice, and distress tolerance. I can assist my clients in knowing where, when, and how to use coping skills for these reasons to see and experience effective change in their lives.
I have been passionate about treating trauma since I entered the clinical field. All too often, trauma is left untreated, leaving people feeling hopeless and powerless to intrusive thoughts, flashbacks, isolation, and other unhelpful symptoms. I am specially trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) that is an evidence-based approach to treating PTSD and traumatic stress. I have over a year of experience working with this modality and helping my clients regain control over their lives.
I studied and practiced music therapy in graduate school and believe in offering a creative approach to therapy. Often times, accessing creativity can provide a wonderful and necessary healing and emotional outlet. I have been a musician for as long as I can remember, and specialize in connecting clinical needs to music.
