Depression is a mental health disorder that affects mood, including how you feel, think, and behave. Everyone feels sad sometimes, but when it starts to affect your ability to perform daily tasks and your ability to enjoy things that typically bring you happiness, you may be suffering from depression. The symptoms of depression vary from person to person, but often include feeling miserable without a clear reason why, anxiety, agitation, insomnia or sleeping too much, hopelessness, changes in eating, and/or foggy thinking. Depression may also cause recurrent thoughts of death or suicide (or even a wish that it would all 'stop' in an abstract sense). If you think you might be suffering from depression, a qualified mental health therapist can help. Reach out to one of TherapyDen’s depression experts today!

One of my core areas of focus is working with transgender and nonbinary individuals. I understand that navigating a world often dominated by rigid gender norms and expectations can be incredibly challenging. My therapeutic practice is dedicated to creating a safe, affirming, and inclusive space where you can explore your gender identity authentically and without judgment.
I work with clients who are looking for a combination of improved insight and practical tools to improve their relationships with themselves and others. Many of my clients come from immigrant backgrounds, and I have a speciality in working with bicultural and multiracial clients around the gifts and challenges that experience can bring. My clinical expertise includes the treatment of anxiety, depression, transitional stress, burn out, identity issues, complex trauma and post-traumatic stress.

We strive to help our clients with every day struggles as well as past experiences. Through discussion with our therapists, our clients will learn new ways of coping with life struggles and learn to respond differently to situations than they have in the past and may happen in the future. We work collaboratively with our clients to focus on presenting issues that the client needs immediate help with while offering an opportunity to dive deeper when necessary.
Do you struggle with feeling at loss with your sense of self, which affects your relationships and your day-to-day life? Do you feel overwhelmed by your mind constantly thinking about the what-ifs of life? Do you feel disconnected from yourself and others? Now more than ever women are feeling anxious, uncertain, and overwhelmed about how to "manage it all" and take care of themselves. Constantly putting everyone else before you can lead to feeling burnt-out and disconnected from mind and body.

You are feeling overwhelmed, stressed, unfulfilled. Maybe your relationship feels like it is crashing and burning. Or maybe you feel like you friend circle has shrunk or that you are the last person standing with no romantic prospects. Maybe you are a parent just trying to get through the day. You have lost motivation, direction, and a sense of purpose. You are not sure when it started but you do not feel the same. Are you finding yourself overwhelmed most days? Do you tend to put others needs before your own? Maybe you feel the weight of the negative self-talk getting louder and harder to manage. That inner voice can really put you down and leave you in a state of constant stress. Speaking from experience, the internal battle can feel quite isolating. If this resonates, my hope is to guide you through the messy world of emotions and help give you an experience of what it means to hold yourself in love.

Often, our past relationships leave us wounded. The story that we tell ourselves becomes permeated with negative thoughts, low self-worth, and shame. As these feelings manifest, we become anxious and depressed. We might experience isolation, loneliness, and a loss of connection to others and to ourselves. Therapy can help us discover perspectives that create a new narrative, one in which we have different ways to manage our emotions and lead a more enjoyable life.
Your unique perspective, identity, and culture are the basis for our work together. You will find safe and non-judgmental support in coping with symptoms of anxiety and depression and in managing key areas of your life, including relationships with family members and partners, and career.

Many of my clients see me for support with managing their chronic pain or illness. Others are looking to heal from trauma, anxiety, or burnout. I’m deeply committed to working with diverse & marginalized communities. I often meet with women of color, professionals from immigrant families, and trans and gender expansive folks. I'm also passionate about helping fellow AAPI folks navigate difficult family and cultural dynamics, or challenge the inner critic & imposter syndrome at work.
Being part of the LGBTQ+ community can be beautiful, exciting, challenging, and heartbreaking which makes finding a LGBTQ+ friendly therapist that much more important. You might be questioning your sexuality. You might wonder where you fit in. You might simultaneously love your queer life, but feel like an outsider from your biological family or the rest of the world. Being part of the LGBTQ+ community might only be one part of who you are and it might not be why you’re coming to therapy at all.

Have you found yourself locked in a pattern of relating that leads again and again to the same negative, frustrating or unsatisfying outcomes? I help couples or individuals identify and alter these patterns, often with insight into how they developed in the first place, leading to happier and more fulfilling relationships and lives.

I am drawn to those who are in transition or processing a loss of some sort; of romantic relationships, careers, loss of family members, or grieving parenting they didn't receive. I love to work with people who are struggling with issues of self esteem, shame, and anxiety. I find it very rewarding to help individuals to develop a stronger relationship with themselves using self compassion and acceptance and then to help individuals empower themselves to make wanted changes.
