I am a compassionate, warm, and patient clinician that finds joy in helping individuals and families reach their highest potential in life.
Gender identity issues, sometimes called gender dysphoria or gender conflict, occur when an individual feels an inconsistency between their physical gender and the gender they truly feel or identify with. This most commonly exhibits itself as a physical discomfort with the gender one was assigned at birth, including the feeling of being in the wrong body. Children with gender dysphoria may express disgust of their own genitals or a certainty that they will grow up to be the opposite sex. Some individuals with gender identity issues treat this feeling by physically modifying their bodies to better match their gender identity. Gender dysphoria comes with it an increased risk for depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues, and bullying. Everything is easier when you feel confident that your partner is in your corner. Sharing the weight of your struggles and amplifying life's joys in what makes relationships worth all the work. Our greatest emotional wounds come from our relationships, and our romantic relationships hold the most healing capacity for not only our collective healing but our individual healing as well.
I work primarily with 2SLGBTQIA+ folx, particularly emphasizing Queer, Trans, BIPOC, Ethically Non-Monogamous, Polyamorous, Kink communities who are interested on working on issues of embodiment, culture, gender, relationship, sexuality, immigration & diaspora. I am passionate about helping people unwind patterns of embodied trauma and oppression that lives in our nervous systems towards personal & collective liberation.
I specialize in working with queer and trans teens and adults who want to increase their sense of rootedness and agency in order to live vibrantly. I commit to providing an affirming space for your full self to show up so we can partner in the important work of healing.
I work with clients to help them better navigate their experiences so that they can feel more authentic and aligned as they move through the world. Societal and cultural pressures affect each of us differently. I practice in a way that acknowledges the impact of systemic oppression and intergenerational trauma on individuals and communities. I know that when you walk into the room, you bring with you experiences I've never had and I believe that you are the expert on your own lived experience.
