Cami McBride
Clinical Psychologist, PhDI enjoy working with individuals who are navigating parenthood, family and career transitions, women’s health issues, attentional challenges, anxiety, and depression.
Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a brain disorder that is typically characterized by a lack of impulse control, an inability to focus and pay attention, and hyperactivity. ADHD most commonly emerges in children and teens and can continue into adulthood. In fact, ADHD is the most common mental health disorder diagnosed in young people and sufferers often have trouble paying attention in school. ADHD must be diagnosed by a qualified clinician. In addition to medical interventions, seeing a mental health practitioner who specializes in the treatment of ADHD can help patients and their families better cope with many of the symptoms. The population I serves includes children twelve and up, couples, and adults. I have experience addressing a range of issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma, divorce, loss, financial strain, relationship challenges, difficult life circumstances, and life transitions.
Are you going through a life transition and need support with managing all the changes going on in your life? That might be changes in school, work, family, parenting or relationships. Or even a quarter-life crisis spent navigating new and old relationships. I'm here to support you in processing these changes as well as recognizing your own strengths to draw from during periods of change. I believe that everyone needs someone to support them - and challenge them - to get through these times.
I specialize in counseling adolescents, adults, and older adults from immigrant families, addressing a wide range of mental health issues and familial conflicts. My practice offers a safe environment for individuals, couples, and families to explore their emotions and develop coping skills. I provide personalized interventions and compassionate care, specializing in anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, substance use disorders, and co-occurring disorders.
I work with all ages, but specialize in working with adolescents and young adults who struggle with anxiety, depression, anger management, low self-esteem and self-compassion, life transitions, relationships, and trauma. I work from a holistic, strengths-based approach and incorporate culturally competent perspectives and trauma-informed care.
Most of my clients have known something is off for a long time. Perhaps it's a persistent challenge to finish projects, a tendency to double-book yourself, or an inability to read a room. Maybe it's the sense that you're working a lot harder than the people around you to make the same progress. What recent research tells us is that ADHD and Autism are up to 300% more common than previously believed. That means a lot of people have been missed, esp. women, AFAB, trans, NB, and POC folx.

I work with couples and individuals of all sexual, gender, and racial orientations. I support clients in breaking old habits, defeating false perceptions, and developing new, positive ways of living. Therapy is individualized, but typically leads to becoming more authentic with others, and accessing and manifesting the power of one's true nature. In doing so, clients can skillfully access their potential, reconnect with their creativity, and navigate any challenges or transitions life presents.

Anxiety is exhausting and can feel completely overwhelming. I look forward to teaching you new skills that will lead to relief of these symptoms! OCD is an extreme form of anxiety, and there are tools that work including ERP therapy, mindulness and more. In addition, past unresolved traumatic memories are often the root of compulsive/obsessive thinking. EMDR therapy is a way out of this. I look forward to working together to find just the right tools for you.

I push partners to connect more deeply with one another, and to understand more about what they need and desire from each other. Clients tell me that my ability to hold space for each of their perspectives and “translate” their experiences to one another helps them overcome the barriers they feel in communication. I am most successful with clients who want to increase their understanding of their situation, who are willing to change and grow, and who are open to being accountable.
