About My Clients
Do you notice repetitive patterns of thoughts, feelings, or actions in your life that cause distress? Does your "best you" feel fleetingly accessible, if at all? My only request of clients who work with me is that they continually invest in understanding themselves better and extending curiosity to their innermost parts. Together, we'll collaborate with curiosity and compassion to investigate and appreciate the challenges, insights, and triumphs of your ongoing story.
My Background and Approach
Using a strengths-based foundation, we’ll work to recognize, explore, and dismantle patterns that cause distress while also sorting through your existing "toolkit" for handling stress to determine what's working, what isn't, and what's missing. My approach is integrative, employing Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and motivational interviewing concepts and structures as the framework of my practice. It's important that our work speaks to the way you think and feel, so I am happy to discuss how we can integrate additional perspectives and modalities for tailored care.
My Values as a Therapist
My philosophy on therapy is entirely client-centered, recognizing that you are the expert of your experience and that, through our work, we can strengthen your internal power and build skills that improve self-efficacy. American culture tends to see therapy in a way that emphasizes the heavy and dark sides of emotion, but therapy is a lot of things including joyful, silly, and sometimes entirely ridiculous! Where humor and levity can be found, let's appreciate them together.
