About My Clients
Has your life become consumed with ANXIETY? Your thoughts are constantly buzzing, but you can’t seem to turn your brain off? Are you starting to question whether you’re drinking too much or too often? It’s not like you’re missing classes or blacking out every weekend. But you’re wondering if your drinking is crossing into “problem territory.” Yet, you don’t want to STOP drinking. There is a middle ground – a place to manage your anxiety and CHANGE your relationship with substances.
My Background and Approach
My clients know that "I get it" - the racing thoughts...not being able to turn off your brain...the secret voice that whispers that you're "not good enough..." One of the first things we will explore together is if alcohol is enhancing your experiences (i.e. glass of Cabernet with dinner) or has it become the experience (i.e. automatically pouring that next drink). We will explore and experiment with new ways of engaging (or disengaging) with alcohol in your day-to-day life. Reach out by calling or e-mailing TODAY!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Fun Fact: I named my counseling practice after my old beagle, Manny. As he got older, we would take him on what we called "sniffer walks." We'd just allow him to sniff and wander as he pleased. We came to call these moments "Wandering Beagle Moments." What is a Wandering Beagle Moment - have you ever observed your dog while you’re out on a walk? I mean really observed - The excitement that bursts forth the moment you grab their leash...How they can sniff a particular spot for what feels like an eternity...The lift of their head as they take in the soft breeze. As their ears are swept up in the wind and their eyes close, they are purely taking in the moment.. Without judgement. Without expectations. Without a whirlwind of thoughts about responsibilities and tasks that await them when they return to work. They turn back toward you with what appears to be a smile of contentment. They’re happy to just be with you. In this moment. THIS is a Wandering Beagle Moment!
