I am a pretty laid back therapist, often coming to work in flip flops and jeans. Clients often say it feels like they are sitting talking to a friend rather than a psychologist. We will spend time addressing what is going on in your life currently but also spend time making sense of your past. While sitting in the deep emotional work together I typically quote random movies and at times we will share a laugh to bring some levity while discussing difficult topics. You will never have to guess what I am thinking as I will openly share that with you.
If you have your pet next to you during our session, I will enlist their help in our work. I find that they let me know you are struggling even when you tell me that you are doing well. A cat butt in the camera often tells me that you need some extra support.
Finding a therapist that truly "gets" you is so important. I offer a free 15 minute session to help you determine if we would be a good fit to work together.
Being neurodivergent myself, I know the frustration of being misunderstood and invalidated. It can be healing to be seen and accepted by someone who does not judge you. I work through a multicultural lens and will explore how environmental factors may have contributed to the distress you may be feeling. With recent events it is hard to not to be impacted by the world around us. This is especially true for women, people of color, and lbgtq+ individuals. Together we will find ways to cope with this stress in addition to processing other issues you are facing.
I am a huge animal lover and have 5 dogs and a turtle. I am looking forward to getting another cat in the future. I have always wanted to have some chickens or a pig but my HOA frowns on that :( I am a homebody and enjoy spending time with my partner and my two kids. We are often watching Harry Potter, Marvel, or the latest Star Wars tv show together. I also love the 80's/90's comedies, baking shows, and watching documentaries.
