About My Clients
My ideal client is curious about the world and how they fit within it. I have experience working with children, teens, and young adults navigate school life, social dynamics, and complicated families. I am also able to help support parents - new and experienced - gain a new perspective on their relationship with their child. Whether you are seeking new sources of motivation, need a coach in your corner, or just want to be heard - I am here to support you.
My Background and Approach
I have met a diverse group of people and worked to cope with feelings of isolation, confusion, and maintaining high personal expectations. Talking to friends, teachers, and students has taught me that there are many definitions of success. My goal is to help you find yours. Learning various counseling techniques and strategies also enables me to work well with different cultural, language, and age groups - towards the goal of fulfillment and personal achievement. Many times my clients do not know where to start, or how to keep going. Each time, I work to be a support and guide along their path. Trauma-informed practices, resilience, and an equity lens are also unique aspects to my work with others; while having fun along the way.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that we all have the right to choose our path for personal growth and success. My view of counseling, or therapy, is one of collaboration and partnership. My role is not to do the work for you, but to be there along the way as you discover your own capabilities. Another main focus is that the learning goes both ways. You will teach me as much as I might teach you during the process. Everyone brings their own story and needs to the session, and that is what makes the journey worthwhile.
