About My Clients
I work with adults (18+) who are seeking assistance in exploring what ails, gaining clarity, and resolving dilemmas. My sessions are designed to promote self-discovery through challenging my clients to channel their courage, honesty, creativity, and responsibility. It is an honor and a pleasure to accompany the people I work with as they progress to a place of wellness and become the people they want to be.
My Background and Approach
I earned a MS degree in Counseling from Loyola University (New Orleans) in 2019 and am currently a PhD candidate at Tulane University in Aging Studies. I specialize in troubles related to aging, death, loss, change, isolation, responsibility, meaning, and choice. The essence of my approach is to foster insight and self-discovery via an authentic counselor-client relationship. My clinical priorities are to aid individuals adapt to life’s realities, develop awareness into their relationships with themselves and others, and take ownership of their lives so that they may find a sense of well-being and satisfaction. With me, you can expect a warm, transparent, and encouraging therapeutic environment and sessions that are constructed to suit your specific needs. In our time together, we will follow your lead and I will provide structure and clinical guidance so that our time together can be as productive as possible.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Thomas Hardy said, “If a way to the Better there be it exacts a full look at the Worst”. Until we confront our problems, fears, and the parts of ourselves we don't like or are ashamed of, there is no chance for a better life. Psychotherapy is hard work. It takes a lot of courage and grit to review ourselves and our choices. However, through the painstaking process of self-examination comes the paydirt of deep work— creativity and self-discovery— and the keys to discovering the solutions to your problems.
