About My Clients
I work with anxious and weary perfectionists, people-pleasers, and high performers - the pastors, therapists, working moms, and helper-types (often Enneagram 1s, 2s, and 8s), who know that committing to their own therapy is vital for sustaining the important work that they do. Therapy is a space for you to finally slow down and take your own needs seriously. Therapy should help you become the most vibrant version of yourself, so you can live the life that you were made for, and do it well.
My Background and Approach
My clients spend a lot of time meeting the needs of others. That's why therapy is first and foremost a space to talk about what's important to you. I blend structure with open-endedness, so you have the freedom to be yourself and go at your own pace, but also feel confident that I'm here to help guide our work and point you in the right direction. As we trace the themes of your life's story, we'll identify some of the organizing rules you've learned to live by without realizing it - the engrained ways of operating that lead you to take on too much, be too hard on yourself, minimize your needs, or feel dissatisfied in relationships. Through our work together, clients often experience genuine improvements in relationships, decision-making, and coping skills; an improved ability to self-advocate, a healthier and more balanced view of self, greater emotional congruence and maturity, and greater freedom to live and come alive.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My guiding principle is that you matter, and you were made to flourish. Our work together should honor the uniqueness of everything you were made to be, from your personal history and cultural identity to your faith and the things that matter most deeply in your life. I work with clients from a variety of belief systems and backgrounds, but have a uniquely Christian view of suffering, hope, and possibility that shapes my work and way of being, whether it is directly spoken about or not. I care deeply about helping to heal what is broken - both in individual lives and relationships, and in the broken systems of injustice, racism, and intergenerational trauma that stunt the kind of flourishing we were all made for. And when I can support one person in their healing, I know it can have far-reaching and generational impacts. Therapy is for you, and also for all of the people who you love and serve. The world is truly a better place when you can be your most whole and vibrant self.
