Just like any other group, the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning (LGBTQ) community faces mental health issues and unique challenges. However, LGBTQ individuals are almost 3 times more likely than others to experience a mental health condition, such as depression or anxiety. Additionally, more than half of individuals who identify as transgender experience depression or anxiety. The LGBTQ community is also at a higher risk for suicide. Young people are even more at risk, as they may experience a lack of support at home and fear, hatred or prejudice in school. If you are a member of the LGBTQ community and are facing mental health challenges, you don’t have to suffer in silence. Reach out to one of TherapyDen’s LGBTQ experts and get help today.
I specialize in working with neurodivergent and/or queer teens and emerging adults and with people who identify as LGBTQIA+, consensually non-monogamous/polyamorous, or kinky. Many of my clients struggle with depression, general anxiety, social anxiety, ADHD, feelings of low self-worth, or chronic pain/health challenges. Ioffer individual, group, and relationship therapy virtually and in my office.

Clients who benefit from working with me have wanted to work on some aspect of themselves, like improving their sense of self worth, finding their own voice, trying to understand why their relationships typically don't work out, or simply just trying to cope with the day to day. I welcome all walks of life in my virtual office and work hard to continually check my biases, decolonize my practice, and reduce harmful language.

I help clients navigate issues related to mood and anxiety disorders, complex trauma and PTSD, and other major life stressors. I use an anti-oppressive lens and pay close attention to the way cultural and institutional factors impact your health. I believe that therapy is one part of a process toward connection and a sense of belonging with others.

Being human is often tough. Sometimes we lose our way and can feel stuck and overwhelmed. Sometimes we would like to change parts of our lives or ourselves but don’t know how. Therapy can be an empowering way to promote healing, growth, and wellness. Often, we initially seek treatment to address a specific concern and then begin to uncover other areas of our lives in which we want to make meaningful change. My goal is for this process to feel supportive, affirming, and appropriately challenging.

I have worked with a wide variety of patients from different cultures and backgrounds, and I aim to empower my clients and work together through their challenges effectively.

I support queer, gender expansive, kinky, and polyamorous and non-monogamous couples, polycules and other relationship structures. I also specialize in working with stepparents and parents who are navigating a non-traditional family structure.

My clients are the coolest. Not that I'm biased. They're often kinky, within the LGBTQIA+ umbrella, in non-monogamous relationships, with some neurodivergence, and often are pretty sarcastic. Sometimes, they need support when it comes to their executive function and their relationships. Sometimes, they need help with anxiety and depression. As a team, we can navigate the challenges and complexities of life.

Some of my clients are working toward feeling more connected in their relationships. Some are working to heal from traumas of the past. Most are looking for an expert therapist, who having tried multiple therapists, need a more comprehensive, philosophically grounded, deeper, and richer experience of self-exploration and healing. My goal is for my clients to experience a connection they may have never felt that helps them build insight, understanding, and the courage and power to heal and grow.
