About My Clients

I generally have the greatest success working with clients who are 18yo-50yo, of any and all genders, and those who are motivated to create transformation in their lives! I have extensive experience supporting survivors of sexual trauma, and I also have passion surrounding supporting the LGBTQ+ community. Folks who are struggling through challenging life transitions are right up my alley, too!

My Background and Approach

I love talk therapy! I've been a subscriber of therapy for years, and I get excited about it because I know the healing qualities that come from a safe, affirming relationship with a therapist. My earliest experiences as a therapist occurred in the field of sexual violence prevention. Much of the work I do centers around healing from and processing sexual trauma, rebuilding a sense of self, working through grief, and general empowerment. I have received training in experiential play therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), polyvagal theory, and Gestalt therapy. All that said, I tend to function from a very eclectic place as a therapist- I believe that therapy is a team effort, and that one of my responsibilities is to meet clients where they are, and to employ a strategy or approach that fits best, case by case. Ultimately, I believe that healing happens best in the confines of a safe, trusting relationship... so the therapeutic relationship always comes first.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that all humans are deserving of being treated with dignity and respect, and the decisions and actions I take as a therapist and as a human reflect this. I fear that this ideology is not always granted in our communities currently, but it will always drive the way that I operate and interact, because it's who I am. I am also a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, and my experiences as a queer woman in America influence my outlook on relationships, safety, and other elements. My years of extensive work in the field of sexual violence prevention have left me a passionate believer in the right of ALL humans to safety, and our responsibility as a community to ensure this and to take action when we see vulnerable folks at risk.
