Andrea possesses a strong passion for addressing Trauma and PTSD, Career Counseling, Anxiety, Depression, Self-esteem/Personal Growth, Life Transitions/Adjustment, Relationship Conflict, Multicultural Issues, Religion and Spirituality, Self-harm, Suicidal Ideation, and Bipolar/Mood Disorders.
My Background and Approach
When working with clients, Andrea incorporates Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), having completed the Dialectical Behavior Therapy Foundational Training through the Linehan Institute. She is an active member of CCG's comprehensive DBT team. Additionally, Andrea utilizes Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Client-Centered, Solutions Focused, Trauma-Informed, and Psychodynamic approaches. She is open to incorporating faith and spirituality in sessions if requested by the client, believing they can contribute to hope and healing. Before joining CCG, Andrea worked at a group practice catering to various professionals, including first responders, medical staff, military personnel/veterans, international humanitarian workers, law enforcement, and journalists. She also gained experience assisting individuals dealing with fertility issues, prepartum/postpartum concerns, chronic illness, and couples' challenges.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Andrea is a Resident in Counseling in Virginia and a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) in Maryland. She values the creation of a safe environment and collaboration with clients to navigate life's challenges, as she believes it is crucial for fostering hope and facilitating healing.
