About My Clients
I work with First Responders and their families, including firefighters, police officers, EMTs, paramedics, dispatch officers, and correctional officers. I also support military personnel, veterans, and their families. My clients face unique stressors tied to their professions, and I am committed to providing a compassionate, informed space to help them navigate the challenges that come with service.
My Background and Approach
My approach is rooted in the mantra: meet people where they are, not where you wish them to be. This means I work alongside you, offering guidance that fits your current situation, without pressure or judgment. Whether we meet online or in person, my goal is to create a safe, supportive environment where you feel understood and heard. Together, we’ll work on building practical coping strategies, addressing the stressors of your profession, circumstances or relationships, and navigating challenges together. I am committed to walking with you through the healing process, providing support that empowers you to move forward at your own pace.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that mental health care should be practical, empathetic, and culturally informed, particularly when supporting First Responders and their families. My training in Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and knowledge of DBT, EMDR, and ACT equip me to address a wide range of challenges. As the wife and daughter of First Responders, I have firsthand experience with the unique stresses of this community, and I’m committed to providing informed care. I regularly attend seminars through the IAFF to deepen my cultural competence in this field. I understand that cumulative stress and trauma can deeply affect well-being. My approach focuses on providing hands-on coping skills and strategies to help working individuals manage the impact of stress and trauma. I believe in empowering clients through skill-building, guiding them to progress through therapy in a meaningful way.
