About My Clients
My clients struggle as you do. Despite being intelligent, loving, and a damn good time, life is hard. You keep telling yourself you don't have time for therapy, but your relationships are suffering, you're exhausted and burned out, and life just feels harder than it used to. You may be forgetful, irritable, easily distracted, and/or quick to anger or easily brought to tears. Don't worry, you probably don't have early-onset dementia! You're likely burned out and in great need of care and rest.
My Background and Approach
I work best with clients who are motivated, ready to work, and willing to test the boundaries of their comfort zone. My most successful clients appreciate my respectful, candid approach. They understand that I am not an oracle, and I can’t fix all their problems; they know that it is actually up to them how much they get out of therapy. My most successful clients approach the process of therapy like investigators: they want to know why things got so bad and how to not only feel better but how to make improvements permanent. I am fully present and active in sessions, and I expect the same level of effort from my clients. This is a collaborative process; we will work together as a team to generate solutions and innovative strategies for helping you achieve your goals. I provide evidence-based, science-backed solutions and help you implement those in your life and relationships.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in the curative powers of exercise (seriously, it solves almost everything!), swearing (sometimes “darn it” just doesn’t cut it), getting lost in music, and life-changing books. Decluttering and organizing are my jam. I don’t always have my shit together, but I’ll be damned if my closet isn’t organized by color. I’m an introvert who can also be quite outspoken and opinionated. I’ve always said, never trust a therapist who hasn’t done their own work in therapy. I’ve learned through therapy how to take better care of myself and embrace my weirdness, and I believe that’s given me the ability to help my clients honor themselves and practice self-compassion.
